Found a bed .....and made a house

Searching for the flowers I found a bed ......didnt find the flowers though

This bed I had made a while ago using a 1inch thick MDF cut to size added some white card around the sides and cut out the headboard with my scrollsaw from Balsa

I thought I will make some linens well I have made the mattress using card and batting covered with sheeting and the top sheet

Still thinking about using  this pretty mauve fabric for the quilt!

then I saw Kathryn Krieger's latest Video on making a Christmas cottage and that was the end of that other idea ! lol

This is all I have done so far its actually for a photo album but Im making it to put a candle in it for my Christmas table display tomorrow I will make the roof section I ran out of time today!

 7" x 3 1/2" base

5" x 7" walls 

cute windows all made from Paper and Card~!

I will try to finish it tomorrow after I have polished my car! Some days one has to tackle the real world stuff!!

Stairs

I havent done those stairs yet Im still not happy!!!

I like these though....... Im thinking forget the stairs! lol

Back to the tudor!

Have been dreaming about these stairs! goodness what a problem!

Thought this would work then cut out the side to make a bread shop

But No ran out of room to get the to the top! Arrgghh!!

Maybe this will work only I will have to extend the base!

This little bread shoppe will be fine I think! I may make a few of these

So not much organised today! after all that dreaming lol I will shingle the little side alley shoppe and paint it up and make some bread to sell and perhaps a few potatoes and cabbages! The Tudor is an eating house/ pub with a  meeting room
and an attic for the servants quarters!

What are your Thought on the stairs!

Baskets

I think I now realise why I gave up Minis! lol

Takes all day to make a few baskets some of which are not very good I fear!

 I think the little red and white one is less than be desired a few more bits added to the top on the ones on the left. I haven't made minis for so long I feel I'm back to square 1 again.... learner!!!  lol

Fun Day!

Today was going out day with hubby for lunch on the mountain at the Chocolate Cottage while I was there I decided to go have look for some beads and things at 
 Danish Flower Art Shop and I found some really cute things

Interesting things! some tiny birds I will paint some trays I have made some perfume trays awhile ago so I will do some more 3 square trays but I will add some photos in those to hang in the book box  little clock and an unusual decoration for my tudor

A couple of other little bits there

 I found these 2 pieces of jewellery that I am making a light for the tudor out of, as you see the steps here although the little candles wont work I will be hanging a bulb down in the centre after I hang it up with the chain which Im yet to cut and fix and that will give the impression I need with out paying lots of  dollars for a really perfect one

 Good Idea do you think?

Bits and Pieces

made a couple of things to day but had to go out so not much accomplished in the Book

Planters, basket, birdhouses and scrolls

Thought a bit of colour would brighten up the tree house

And a little blue bird house

Anyone know where I can purchase some tiny birds?

The Enchanted Wood Book Box

I had a little time today to work on the book I have the little base done now and I couldn't wait to pop the mushrooms in, it needs a lot of colour, so I made the shelves sage green.
It looks a little darker than it shows here I have to pop a little light in the basement bit yet I have to order some
The little brown fireplace I'm still working on needs a fire I thought I should put a light in there as well and a chimney yet to be put in!

Still needs a lot of work yet and I dont get a lot of time between keeping house bookwork and my beautiful pets lol

The Book

Here we are had a lovely day with Judy yesterday working on the book!

Im still working on the painting haven't quite got the colour right on the basement tree part  I am happy with!

Mmmm I see it needs a fair bit of work as yet!

Now I see it from a distance gives me more perspective and I will be changing that little door for a window and will plaster that

My trip to BMEA

Im back from my little trip to Brisbane so lovely seeing all the ladies again I do miss them!
we were only there a short time but I managed to purchased few items

Pillows for the Slippery slip clock,tea and milk for Moonface

crate to put mushrooms in lolly containers a plate and jug for Moonface

Saucepans for Mr Saucepan Man

Toffee Tins for Moonface

Not very many things, it was so hard to move quickly, the room was full of people and so many things, I  just couldn't really get around easily but Im happy with the purchases if I need any more I just buy online!

BMEA

Im off to the Brisbane Miniaturist open day tomorrow!

So looking forward to seeing all the lovely mini friends I met a few years ago

and to seeing what things i can buy for my latest mini makings!

I made some new business cards to give out just in case 

  I find some new friends to keep in touch with i might even re sub

Hope to add a few new photos tomorrow

The Book work

well I thought I had better try to move on a little more with the tree book

and have this so far looks really messy but that will all be covered hopefully!

The  basement where food stores and wood will be kept mmm maybe some very interesting creatures will also live under here

 

I have made a place for the slippery slide to be in the centre and a shelf for some storage!

Lots to do yet!

The Book

Well today was a much better day for minis!
Always great to have someone to work with and throw a few ideas around!
So off to my friend Jood's for another session

We have the book to the building stage now
Don't be put off by the messy look, that will all be covered as soon as maybe!

so next the floors are to be laid so off to do that now

Not much done today

I had a huge list!
Firstly to make floorboards for the Tudor then to add the roof section Hubby helped me get the beams ready to stain and glue on before gluing the roof on
well I got ready to finish that this morning and everything went wrong!
The beams I accidentally stained the wrong side and after gluing it all down I looked at it and I saw it
OH BOTHER!!! I had to recut them and re stain them by this time I had enough and gave up and  watched a movie!

Well I have glued the books now they are drying
Now what can I finish today!
I have been pondering for ages about what to use for the shingles on the old cottage its been too long!
SO I decided to try the palm fronds

The old cottage sure needs fixin' up! its a bit shabby, so I thought the fronds look good!

Very messy, but I think it adds to the charm what do you think?

I was pursing Mecedes Blog "Liberty Biberty" again and I so love her shabby chic house and bakery
Its just gorgeous and is given me a bit of a push to get going doing something with my 2 huge totes of furniture 
I do have some really basic pieces that I am now trying to paint white!
 I have only put on the first coat as yet not sure I can get a really smooth look!
I will try!

the left cupboard I made out of balsa to go in a mouse house but I had not finished it

 I also made a little parcel today must make some more of those and I really want to make a scroll or 2
 

Books

Today I thought I had better get something done in minis so I tried my hand at mini books!
Love to be a little better with the gold on the spine but I will need to practise a bit more I can see, I used balsa,coloured card and gold paint

The Mousey family

I was digging around in my bits and pieces searching for things to go into the bakery
