I wasn't sure what to use in the end I decided to use egg carton and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out
I cut strips 1inch wide then just cut them freehand with the scissors
I just roughly painted the roof blue grey so I wouldn't have any white undercoat showing through, it prolly didn't matter
I like the way it turned out Deni- they do look very realistic.

ReplyDeleteI have used mount board before on the other half house I built, but it was so difficult to cut
Rik Pierce taught us to use a smaller tile on the roof, they do look better than the bigger timber ones, at least for this particular size house and I made them in strips which was a very quick method, still a few rows to go, then paint them! yes I am pleased with that result I do like them to look a little crooked now, not perfectly straight!
Its going to look great when finished. I believe egss cartons are perfect for this.
